Let's edumacate ourselves today and catch up on the local going-ons in our fair city, shall we? This headline, taken from the South Bend Tribune, caught my eye today:

CheckSmart customer jailed in fake heist

Here's what happened: a 19-year old woman was "robbed" outside CheckSmart. In her purse was $305 she owed CheckSmart. Her purse was later discovered by the police dogs and the dogs also found the "robber." (Give those dogs a raise) The woman claimed she didn't know the robber but that he "looked familiar." Turns out when the police searched the guy they found a stolen check in his pants from the woman's mother and she orchestrated the whole thing. According to the police: "I look at it like this, she tried to play us for idiots. We are good at what we do."

Questions:

1. Someone explain this to me.
2. If you're going to stash a purse for someone to pick up later...why not stash it someplace a little harder to find??
3. If you're planning to have your purse stolen, why not make sure nothing valuable is in it so that the "robber" can just take out the money, toss the purse, and meet up with you later?
4. If you're going to "rob" someone, never wear pants.
